Alex, our UK representative, recently attended the CultureGeek online conference. His report highlights one of the sessions he found interesting which discussed the redesign of the collections website of London’s Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A).
COLLECTION CONNECTION #120
This newsletter highlights recent developments with the Browser module. First we introduce new features in Browser Version 6 and then show how Tairāwhiti Museum has added multi-lingual navigation to their online collection and how the Australian Ballet uses the Browser module to allow all staff internal access to their database.
Multi-lingual navigation at Tairāwhiti Museum
In keeping with their core principles the Tairawhiti Museum uses both Te Reo (Maori) and English in their website.
The Australian Ballet improves access for staff to their collection data
Vernon Browser has been implemented as an intranet site for staff at The Australian Ballet to search the production assets via colour, keyword search, Google API generated tags, Production name, TAB Premiere date, dancer, designer and choreographer.
Vernon Browser version 6
The Browser module is evolving as we continue to improve the Browser template pages. Online collections are built upon these template pages and customised to the requirements of each individual client.
