Auckland Art Gallery have been hard at work this year on their new website. They have collaborated with Pixel Fusion, a company which specialises in developing digital projects from early ideas to completed products. The new website includes a simplified menu structure, updated branding and mobile support.
Responsive design
The content for the collection pages is pulled in using Vernon Browser’s programming interface. The collection is then displayed within a responsive design to support viewing all of the content on a range of screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop screens.
Archives online
The new website includes access to the Gallery’s archives collection. This is at series level, describing each group of related archival material that the Gallery holds.
Extended collection search option
The advanced search options for the online collection now include filter options to find works with no copyright restrictions (over 8,000 works at present) or to find works currently on display.
