We’re looking for people to talk about their projects or how they use Vernon CMS at our annual online Vernon User Group (VUG) meeting in October. We welcome presentations on anything in the GLAM world – not just Vernon.
We consistently hear from people that client talks are one of their favourite parts of VUG meetings. People say that it’s so interesting to peek into other people’s systems and hear about their processes and projects. You don’t have to have all the answers and your work doesn’t have to be perfect. The VUG is about sharing what works and what doesn’t, and learning from each other. Perhaps your personal development plans this year include getting better at presenting? This is a great opportunity to tick that goal off the list. We’d love to hear from you!
Here are some topic ideas:
– Accessioning
– Activities module
– Collection moves
– Data migration
– Deaccessioning
– Digital asset management
– Loans
– Location management
– Online collections
– Person records
– Rights
– Risks and hazards
– Valuations
The VUG online meeting is planned for Wednesday 16 October to Thursday 17 October. It’s a shorter event now that we’re back to hosting in-person meetings. Your talk should be around 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions. Please read the attached Vernon Systems Presenter Agreement which describes how it all works so you know what to expect.
